Literature Text

Through the bustling court I scoured,
Sorting out every possibility
and to my astonishment I saw you there;
animated, dynamic and filled with energy
And in your eyes I was invisible.

You sat on the steps of a pile of bricks,
and joked and played with your friends;
flinging flirtatious fables here and there,
as if you knew the world didn't care!
Though all I did was care.

I saw you pass the narrow hallways,
I saw you at the local deli.
I saw you scream for joy when no-one was looking,
and you really knew the world didn't care!
And in your eyes I was invisible.

The days went by and so did you;
Your perpetuating presence paralyzed my senses.
Though all I ever did was care,
and in your eyes I am invisible.
More poetry.
