Literature Text

The one eyed butler greets you warmly,
Don't get too comfy; things aren't what they seem.
As he guides you to your chambers,
Perhaps you might hear the slightest scream...

And as you sleep the shutters slam shut!
You jump out of bed, wide awake!
And to your horror you see on the floor,
a giant slithering rattle snake!

You scream in surprise; the snake lashes out,
You can't believe it missed!
You head for the door but on the handle,
lies a spider twice as much the size of your fist!

You crash through the door into the hall;
Illuminated candles give off an eerie glow.
And from the darkness you see a vampire emerge,
With bloody fangs and skin as white as snow.

And from the window a werewolf leaps,
and from the front door zombies stumble.
Frankenstein grabs you from behind,
as potion making witches began to mumble.

You suddenly wake up, cold sweat on your forehead;
Feeling relieved that it was merely a dream.
But when you find yourself ensnared by a snake,
It easy to say that nothing is what it seems.

We hope you enjoy this night of fright;
and we hope you enjoyed this chilling tale.
Now go from door to door to 'trick or treat',
And avoid all zombies, as they'll feast on your meat...
Early Happy Halloween!
